Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Location: Eugene Area
Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in operating various types of heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, rollers, and compaction equipment. Ideal candidates will have experience in commercial and residential site preparation, grading, or septic system installation. Applicants must hold a Class A CDL and be ready to work on diverse construction projects. This role requires proficiency in both the operation of machinery and manual tasks, including pipe laying and grading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Efficiently operate a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, rollers, and other compaction equipment.
- Site Preparation and Grading: Perform tasks related to commercial and residential site preparation, grading, and septic system installation with precision.
- Transport and Load Equipment: Safely operate dump trucks to haul materials and transport heavy equipment to and from job sites. Load, bind, and unload construction equipment securely.
- Manual Labor: Assist with manual tasks such as pipe laying and grading when required. Support team members in achieving project goals.
- Laser Levels and Grade Checking: Use laser levels and other measurement tools to ensure grading accuracy and to check ground levels.
- Read Blueprints: Interpret blueprints and site plans to execute excavation and site preparation tasks in line with project requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies, including pre-employment drug testing and regular background checks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, etc.).
- Class A CDL License is mandatory.
- Experience in commercial and residential site preparation, grading, and/or septic system installation preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and check grades using laser levels.
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing and a driver's background check.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
